Affordable Rental Opportunity Created with Help from Hurricane Sandy Relief Funds

Including 4 Accessible Apartments for People Transitioning from Nursing Homes

Completed in September of 2015, these 32 stylishly designed 1 and 2 bedroom rental residences all contain private individual entrances to enhance a suburban feel. The development has a free standing community clubhouse is shared by all residents, along with a community playground. In a quiet yet convenient enclave, Akabe Village is near the shopping and entertainment of Route 9 and easily accessible by both car and public transportation. The development also represents the State’s first 4 long-term dedicated apartments set aside for people transitioning from nursing facilities, enabling people to live independently in the community. This partnership with the State’s I Choose Home program will change the lives of people who will now be able to live in specially designed, fully accessible apartment residences.

Regan Development worked closely with Howell Township to create a development to address and satisfy the affordable housing needs of the local community. As part of the State’s Sandy Relief Effort, Akabe Village represents an important investment in Monmouth County, where substantial storm damage limited housing choice. Cooperation and support from the State of New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, the State of New Jersey Housing Mortgage Finance Agency, and First Sterling Financial has made this community possible.
