Hartford Courant Recognizes that New Housing Complexes Offer Hope for Independence

A new article in the Hartford Courant profiled several potential residents for one of two brand new buildings under construction in Canton and Bloomfield, Connecticut. These buildings will provide brand new, high quality rental living for people at affordable rents. They each include 25% of their apartments set aside to allow people living with intellectual or developmental disabilities or autism to live independently, with the supportive services they may need to succeed. These two life changing developments are the result of a team effort including the State of Connecticut’s Department of Housing, Department of Developmental Services and the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority, as well as tax credit investment by WNC & Company and Webster Bank. The article profiling potential residents can be found at this link.
